I first met Amy when I was competing in the Miss America Organization several years ago. She was part of the fun committee that made pageant week unforgettable by planning out activities and games for the contestants to do after the mandatory requirements for the day were done. She really had a knack for that kind of stuff. I remember being drawn to her vibrant energy, her sarcastic sense of humor and her incredible fashion sense. Not only did she head up the fun committee for the pageant, but Amy was also the incredible graphic designer behind the Miss Minnesota social media pages, program books, and so much more! After my days in the Miss Minnesota Organization were behind me, I even got to work with Amy for almost two years as a marketing coordinator for a local construction company.
Let’s just say I was more than a little excited (and so honored) to do a mommy & me session with her and her sweet baby girl, Isla before the birth of her second daughter, Emma.
Isla is an adorably squirmy toddler, so we definitely had to get a little creative with some of our techniques (which may or may not have included glitter and bubbles)! You can check out a few highlights from their session below:
